INSURANCE DEFENSE
The firm handles first and third party insurance cases in a wide variety of contexts. Many of
these cases involve a reservation of rights by the insurance carrier and the participation of
personal or Cumis counsel.
- Real property, landlord-tenant, and construction defect claims
Real property cases include easement and border disputes, loss of view, landslide,
subsidence, loss of adjacent and subjacent support, and water diversion claims. Real
property cases with public entity defendants also involve inverse condemnation law.
Landlord-tenant cases include habitability issues, breach of contract claims, analysis of
state and local rent and housing ordinances and building codes, access issues that
implicate state and federal disability statutes, as well as delicate insurance coverage
questions.
Construction defect cases frequently include claims of equitable and contractual
indemnification, and complex coverage issues involving multiple insurance policies.
- Products liability and toxic tort claims
These cases range from defective products to mold and asbestos-related injury claims.
Our personal injury cases arise from a wide variety of scenarios, including motor vehicle
accidents, accidents occurring on residential or commercial property, and workplace
injuries.
